Virginia Tidewater Chapter 39

Virginia Tidewater Chapter 39 will celebrate the 75th anniversary on Friday, June 6, 1 pm at the Khedive Temple picnic grounds in Chesapeake VA. We will use a baseball theme - Hit a Home Run and slide into first base as a member of IREM. Be safe - no outs with membership! We've purchased the 75th diamonds and will distribute those to all IREM members at this event. Also, we will be raffling off tickets to the Tides Baseball game during this event.

Members will celebrate and enjoy networking and have barbeque, chicken and all the regular picnic food at this event.

If anyone is interested in joining us, please contact Cindy Matthews, IAE at Chapter 39! Let's all play ball!

This year Chapter 9 is hosting a president's breakfast to enable members to meet past presidents. In addition we are hosting a luncheon cruise on the Ohio River to coincide with our visit with Reggie Mullins.

Greater Phoenix Chapter No. 47 Celebrates IREM's 75th!

Greater Phoenix Chapter No. 47 will be celebrating IREM's 75th Anniversary by hosting a Happy Hour Social at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville in Glendale, Arizona, on Tuesday, June 24^th, 4-6pm.

We will be serving delicious horderves and Margarita's to our members and guests! In honor of IREM's 75th Anniversary, we will be distributing engraved IREM 75th Anniversary paperweights to the first 50 who arrive. We will also be raffling off autographed sports memorabilia from our Arizona teams with proceeds benefiting our Charity, Sojourner Center.

In addition, we will collect monies for our charity if you purchase a glass of Spirit's with diamond earrings in all the glasses - and guess what...one of the glasses will hold a real pair of diamond earrings that one lucky person will WIN!

What a great way to CELEBRATE IREM's 75th Anniversary! We are excited to take part in this very special occasion for IREM!

Scavenger Hunt for 75th Anniversary

Northern Virginia Chapter 77 held an "on-line scavenger hunt" relating to the chapter's history as part of its year-long campaign to highlight IREM's 75th. Members were asked in a newsletter item to visit the chapter's website and find such facts as, "What year was the chapter founded?" and "Who was the chapter's president in 1997?" Participants who e-mailed the correct answers were entered into a drawing for a $75 gift certificate. Not only did the scavenger hunt encourage a historical look at the chapter's growth and progress, it also made members more familiar with our newly revamped website...a double bonus!

IREM El Paso Chapter #84 Scholarship Raffle

During our National IREM President's visit we will have our monthly luncheon and hold a raffle for 3 items: Flat Panel TV, IPOD, Swarvoski Bracelet & Earrings. The Fundraiser is for our local Scholarship Fund.

Charity Bowl-a-Thon

IREM Chapter 56 will host its 3rd Annual Bowl-a-Thon on June 3, 2008 raising money for Urban Ministry Homeless Shelter and Food Bank.

New Jersey Chapter No 1 Celebrates IREM Week with the Newark Bears

On June 3, 2008 the members, Friends, and guests of IREM NJ Chapter No. 1 will celebrate IREM Week with the Newark Bears Baseball Club.
The evening will begin with a facilities tour of Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium in Newark, NJ. Attendees will then meet in the Luxury Suites where they will enjoy a buffet dinner followed by a game between the Newark Bears and the Bridgeport Bluefish.
During the evening our chapter name and a message congratulating IREM on its 75th Anniversary will be displayed on the scoreboard and announced over the public address system.
We are looking forward to a "fun filled" event!

Diamond Anniversary Activities

St. Louis Chapter 11 is holding a cocktail reception and dinner at a fancy place (Still to be determined). Our charity golf tournament is in May, so we are presenting our charity donation to the charity at the Diamond Party. As the charity will already be at the event, we are going to sell or auction a special diamond item (still to be determined) at this event for the charity.

1) Use Centerpieces on each table to auction or sell chances
2) Sell gift bags with something in each bag, but a special diamond item in ONE bag
3) Oral auction
4) 50/50 drawing

As you can see the committee is still debating the best method to raise money and awareness.

We found giant Diamond Ring napkin rings at Oriental Trading for part of the decorations of the event.

As this is also St. Louis Chapter 11's 65th Anniversary, we will be working to tie in the 65-item to the event.

More details to follow as we firm our plans.

IREM NC Piedmont Chapter 56 has designed 75th Anniversary Cookies to use to promote IREM and the Chapter. Cookies were mailed with hand written invitation to participate in chapter event and create opportunities for ODIE visits.
